Deceptakoncept is emerging from a mostly east coast background, growing up most of his life in Florida and his teenage years in Michigan. He spent about a year in AZ, then had to get out to the the golden state to make shit happen. His music is influenced by many genres of music such as hip hop, punk rock, reggae, blues, and even jazz. His music is Self-Produced from beats, to Guitar, to DJ'ing, to Rapping, and everything in between. He's currently hitting up the San Diego Scene with beats and rhymes. His music is a combination of Hip Hop mixed in with a large blend of other influences such as rock, reggae, techno, jazz, and blues.
His lyrics are mainly about trying to spread open consciousness/universal truths. He is greatly into the mayan calendar and ancient knowledge and that comes across in his lyrics quite heavily. He also has a bit of battle style mixed in with that. Deceptakoncept is off and running with his self-owned record label, Corporate Chaos Records, and also runs his own clothing line, Bong Street Clothing, which is supporting the legalization of marijuana and trying to encourage people to speak out. He believes in doing everything DIY.
